Executive Director

Now serving as the Executive Director of America’s ToothFairy: National Children’s Oral Health Foundation, Jill Malmgren has over 15 years of successful leadership in a variety of industries.  She began her career in dentistry in 2006 where she served as Director of Operations for world-renowned Sheets & Paquette Dental Practice and the Newport Coast Oral Facial Institute.  In 2011, she relocated to Charlotte, NC, where she joined the America’s ToothFairy team and later assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer.  In that role, she oversaw operations, strengthened key stakeholder relationships, implemented systems to improve efficiency, and helped spearhead groundbreaking programs contributing to the organization’s ability to expand services for vulnerable children and engage youth in oral health promotion.


Shannon_WeatherlyShannon Weatherly

National Program Director

Shannon is the National Program Director for America’s ToothFairy. She is responsible for ensuring effective outreach, delivery and maintenance of all youth programs provided by the organization. Shannon has a wide-reaching career touching many aspects of issues facing our nation’s youth. Her career began in group homes for children in out-of-home placement. She has managed large-scale youth substance use prevention programs on local, state and national levels and is the former Acting Administrator of the Drug-Free Communities Support Program housed at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. Most recently, Shannon honed her skills in collective impact as a problem solving model at the Forum for Youth Investment in Washington, DC, and Youth Thrive in Wake County, NC. Shannon is a proud graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Education Psychology. Her Master’s Degree in Counseling is from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.


Amber HollowayAmber Holloway

Communications Director

As Communications Director, Amber is responsible for America’s ToothFairy communications and grantwriting efforts with the aim of maximizing the organization’s reach and impact. Amber joined America’s ToothFairy in 2014 after serving for 14 years as Communications Manager for Partners International, an international community development organization. Originally from Washington state, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Whitworth University.


Rene JackRene´ Jack

Social Media Graphics Manager

As the Social Media Manager, Rene´ is responsible for executing and maintaining the various social media pages within America’s ToothFairy to extend the audience and reach of the organization. As the Graphics Manager she creates marketing materials for external or internal use. She comes to America’s ToothFairy after two years working for New Horizons Computer Learning Center as the Marketing Manager and five years with Contemporary Product Solutions Magazine as their Graphic Designer. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from the College of New Jersey.


Alli ThomasAlli Thomas

Program Coordinator

As the Program Coordinator, Alli is responsible for assisting the National Director of Youth Programs and effectively promoting #MySmileMatters and Smile Drive through development and implementation of new initiatives/efforts and partnerships to engage and retain program partners. Alli is a South Carolina native and graduated from Clemson University with a BS in Sociology. She is currently working towards her Master’s degree in Youth Development Leadership also from Clemson.

Manager, Professional Programs

As Manager of Professional Programs, Robin Vann is responsible for overseeing the Oral Health Zone Program®, NCOHF Affiliate Network, Esther Wilkins Education Program and Students United with America’s ToothFairy – Undergraduate and Graduate Students.  Robin comes to NCOHF after serving as Program Director and Program Manager at the Women’s Economic Development Agency in Atlanta, Georgia. She holds a MBA from the University of Georgia, a MS in Urban Policy from Georgia State University and a BA from Spelman College.




Jessica McDonaldJessica McDonald

Office Manager/Executive Assistant

As Office Manager/Executive Assistant, Jess’s responsibilities include, organizing meetings, conferences and travel, managing our calendar and workflow, as well as supporting all staff with tasks within the office. Jess comes to America’s ToothFairy with over 10 years of professional experience and skills ranging from managing offices, busy executives, and donor relations. Jess is a Charlotte native and studied Business Administration at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.





Jo JassJo Jass, RDH

Orange County Health Zone Manager

As the Program Manager of the new Orange County, CA Oral Health Zone, Jo is responsible for all aspects of implementation including development of a local broad-based advisory board and coordination of a volunteer task force. She is responsible for establishing a comprehensive community prevention education program through the identification and engagement of community stakeholders.

Jo Miller Jass, joins America’s ToothFairy with over 20 years of experience in development and maintenance of school based oral health programs.  Jo’s career encompasses many facets in oral health programs and advocacy including Founder/Executive Director of Seals on Wheels, a Non Profit Preventative Mobile Dental Program; Director of Outreach, Education & Prevention Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County; Orange County California Children’s Dental Disease Prevention Program Coordinator; Technical Advisor to the Center for Oral Health, successfully completing an Oral Health project to implement Oral Health Policy into four California School Districts. Liaison to Ayuda Dental Clinics, OC Dental Society, OC Dental Hygiene Society, OC Health Care Agency, OC Department of Education as well as many years as a Registered Dental Hygienist working in the private sector.


Leigh QuarlesLeigh Quarles, MPH

Arkansas Oral Health Zone Manager

As the program manager for the Arkansas Oral Health Zone, Leigh is responsible for identifying and building relationships with community partner organizations, coordinating community events to promote children’s oral health, leading fundraising activities to promote sustainability, and training community professionals and volunteers for delivery of preventive strategies. Prior to serving as AR Oral Health Zone Manager, Leigh was consulting project manager at New York University overseeing several NIH funded projects focusing on stroke prevention, minority recruitment for clinical trials, and the impact of social networks on health.

Leigh holds a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and behavior from Mount Holyoke College, and a master’s degree in public health with a focus on sociomedical sciences and health promotion/disease prevention from Columbia University. She lives in Conway, AR with her husband Eric, and can be found in her spare time riding her horse, walking her dog, or enjoying a good porch sit with neighbors.


Mary VanderwertMary Vanderwert

Minnesota Oral Health Zone Manager

Mary comes to NCOHF and oral health with over 25 years of experience in building coalitions, designing systems and working across sectors to promote the healthy development of young children.  She served as the Minnesota Head Start State Collaboration Director for 7.5 years and has directed programs for the Minnesota Center for Professional Development, child care programs for a large non-profit social service agency and provided training and technical assistance to Head Start programs throughout Minnesota.  In her spare time, she is a master gardener, mosaic artist and quilter.
