Previous to his current assignment, Mr. Clark held various operating positions with DENTSPLY, including Senior Vice-President with responsibilities including business development, strategic planning, and operating responsibilities over six primary manufacturing operations and more than ten primary selling organizations located in the United States, Europe and Japan. Prior to joining Dentsply in 1992, Mr. Clark held several Brand Management positions with Procter and Gamble.

Prior to Cardiac Pathways, Mr. Prescott held various sales, general management and executive roles at Nellcor Puritan Bennett, Inc., and various management positions at GE Medical Systems. In addition, Mr. Prescott served in sales, marketing and management roles at Siemens. He earned his masters degree from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University in 1992 and his bachelors degree, with emphasis in Civil Engineering, from Arizona State University.

Mr. Engels retired from 3M Company in 2007 after 39 years of employment and serving in a variety of leadership positions. He held executive level leadership positions within 3M since 1992, including serving as Vice President and General Manager from 2001 to 2007 of 3M ESPE Dental Products, a Division within 3M’s Health Care Business. 3M is a U.S. publicly held, multinational organization with operations in more than 60 countries. Mr. Engels served on the Board of Directors of the Dental Trade Alliance and on the Advisory Board Committee of the Dental Ethics Alliance Initiative. He served as a Board and Executive Committee Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Mexico during his assignment as Managing Director, 3M Mexico. He has also served as a Heart Care Program Ambassador for the University of Michigan and Board Director of Medical Alley, an organization founded to support Minnesota’s health care industry.

In addition to Paul’s duties at Patterson Dental Supply, he has also spent considerable time in various dental industry leadership roles including his former position as Chairman of the Board of the American Dental Trade Association ( Now the Dental Trade Alliance).. Mr. Guggenheim’s past accomplishments include being elected as President of the Dental Dealers of America and Chairman of the American Dental Cooperative.

Dr. Huw F. Thomas was appointed Dean, School of Dental Medicine at Tufts in August 2011. Prior to his position at Tufts, he was Dean, School of Dentistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has previously held appointments at the University of Connecticut Health Center and at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he was chairman, Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Professor, Department of Pediatrics and Department of Cellular and Structural Biology. Dr. Thomas holds Fellowships in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), American College of Dentists and International College of Dentists, and is a member of several national and international associations and societies. Throughout his career, Dr. Thomas has served on numerous boards and committees of major national organizations including the Chair, Council on Scientific Affairs, AAPD; Executive Committee Member and Program Chairperson, Section on Oral Health, American Academy of Pediatrics; and Chair, Section on Dentistry and Oral Health Sciences, American Association for the Advancement of Science. Currently, he serves as Vice President of Deans, Board of Directors of the American Dental Education Association. His research interests include studies on tooth development, nutrition and Infant Oral Health.

Dr. Gordon Christensen is the Founder and leader of two international continuing education organizations; Practical Clinical Courses (PCC) in Utah and the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry (SCD) in Arizona. Dr. Christensen has presented over 45,000 hours of continuing education throughout the world and has published many articles and books. Together with his wife, Dr. Rella Christensen, he co-founded the non-profit CRA Foundation (CRA), which has conducted research in all areas of dentistry since 1976 and publishes the findings to the profession in the well-known CRA Newsletter. Early in his career, he helped initiate the University of Kentucky and University of Colorado Dental Schools and taught at the University of Washington. Dr. Christensen’s degrees include: DDS, University of Southern California; MSD, University of Washington; PhD, University of Denver; an Honorary Doctor of Science from Utah State University, and an honorary Doctor of Dental Education and Research from Utah Valley State University. Dr. Christensen is a Diplomate and/or Fellow in numerous professional organizations and is a practicing prosthodontist in Provo, Utah.

Dr. John N. Williams Jr. began his appointment as dean of the Indiana University School of Dentistry on June 15, 2010. Formerly dean of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he also served as a professor in UNC’s Department of Dental Ecology. Prior to joining the faculty and administration at UNC, he served in several positions with the University of Louisville School of Dentistry from 1986 to 2005, including dean of the dental school from 1999 to 2005. Dr. Williams received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Transylvania University (Lexington, Ky.) and his doctor of dental medicine and MBA from Louisville. He began his career in private general dental practice but served part-time public health positions. Prior to enrolling in dental school, Williams served as a legislative analyst for the Kentucky Legislative Research Commission for two years. He maintains academic interests in health policy, dental workforce issues and instructional technologies and is active in a number of national and international organizations, including a member of the Board of Directors of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA).
