A-dec Saves Young Smiles with Generous Donation to America’s ToothFairy

a-dec_logo(Charlotte, NC, February 11, 2016) – A-dec has made a generous in-kind donation to America’s ToothFairy: National Children’s Oral Health Foundation® to support clinical programs providing dental care to underserved children.

Valued at more than $184,000, the donated dental cabinets were distributed to members of the America’s ToothFairy Affiliate Network, a collaborative alliance of leading university dental and dental hygiene programs, hospitals, community clinics, mobile units and school-based programs that provide comprehensive oral health services to underserved children and families. CareSouth Carolina, Inc. (Hartsville, SC), Conway Interfaith Clinic (Conway, AR), and KinderSmile Foundation (Upper Montclair, NJ) were the selected recipients.

The donation was especially timely for KinderSmile Foundation. Committed to providing free dental care to underprivileged children in New Jersey, KinderSmile will use the cabinets in its new KinderSmile Community Oral Health Center. The center, slated for construction in 2016, will serve underserved communities in Newark, East Orange, Bloomfield, Irvington and Montclair. In addition to clinical rooms, the oral health center will also house a toothbrush station and oral health educational room.

“The cabinetry donated by A-dec will go into the clinical rooms that provide dental services to low- income children and at-risk, uninsured pregnant mothers,” said Nicole McGrath, DDS, Founder and CEO of KinderSmile Foundation. “KinderSmile is greatly appreciative of the amazing and fruitful partnership we have forged with America’s ToothFairy over the last eight years. This move would not have been possible with their amazing support and assistance.”

In addition to donated products and equipment, America’s ToothFairy provides members of the Affiliate Network free educational materials, community-based programs and financial grants to support expansion of their services for children.

“Building on our 50-year commitment to philanthropy, A-dec is proud to support America’s ToothFairy and the vital oral health programs offered by its Affiliate Network,” said Scott Parrish, A-dec CEO and President. “We are pleased to provide this donation to worthy non-profit clinical programs, knowing it will support the delivery of much-needed children’s oral health services for years to come.”

“America’s ToothFairy is very grateful to A-‐‑dec for their generous support for our smile-‐‑saving programs,” said Fern Ingber, America’s ToothFairy President and CEO. “With this valuable donation, A-‐‑dec has made it possible for our Affiliates to invest more of their limited financial resources into direct education and care for the children who need it most.”
