Orange County, Oral Health Zone

SUAT.jpegThe Orange County Oral Health Zone (OC OHZ) aims to join a community-engaged approach to bringing awareness and building healthier communities. It combines resources and programs from America's ToothFairy with local programs, knowledge, expertise, and manpower to address the significant oral health needs of youth in southern California. By utilizing our community programs, ToothFairy 101 Community Education Kit and other resources, the OC OHZ works to improve oral health literacy and knowledge, improve access to care and unite dental and medical professionals in the fight against pediatric dental disease.

Orange County OHZ Goals:

  • Expand access to oral health education
  • Elevate oral health literacy among pregnant mothers, children, teens, and their caregivers
  • Engage youth in oral health advocacy and community service
  • Increase access to care for at-risk populations

They saw a total of 100 girls at the IMA School for Girls and provided preventative care to 2,000 teeth! The ToothFairy 101 kit was the perfect tool to educate the girls on proper brushing and flossing. One little girl mentioned to her teacher that it was the best day of her life!!

Welcome to our newest SUAT,

California State University Fullerton Pre Dent Society

It was a pleasure to take part in the 6th Annual Oral Health Expo for the 2nd year in a row in Garden Grove. It was hosted by Senator Janet Nguyen and sponsored by Central County Foundation, Lestonnac Free Clinic, Concorde Career College, and Mariners Church.

While the Concorde Dental Hygiene students were busy volunteering in the dental clinic, the Yorba Linda Girls League High School SUAT provided oral health and nutrition education for the children in attendance. The children were eager to learn and excited to use our ToothFairy 101 Community Education Kit.  It was a great success, and we want to thank everyone who had participated and volunteered their time!!
