America's ToothFairy would like to welcome our New Partner Pretend City Children's Museum!

Pretend City Children’s Museum in Irvine, CA, is a community that builds better brains through fun, whole-body learning experiences and empowers children and their grown-ups to meaningfully connect with and expand their world. One of these whole-body learning experiences takes place in a dental chair, with staff members dressing up as the tooth fairy to better acquaint children with the dentist. As an America's ToothFairy partner, Pretend City is using the Community Education Kit to increase oral health education among all visitors who come through their museum! Below are a few photos of Pretend City staff in action.

The Yorba Linda High School Girls League made four videos for dental product manufacturers to collect as many oral care products as possible for the Smile Drive. They also distributed donation boxes at their high school, local pharmacy, library and community center. "We had a potluck party while making our boxes and posters and had a BLAST doing it!" said Payton Wink, one of the student volunteers. "The best part is yet to come when we distribute the products! Thank you America's ToothFairy   for this wonderful opportunity!"

Payton's video is a success and the donations keep rolling in! See her video here!

Grand Reopening of Pretend City Dental Office Exhibit

What an exciting way to kick off the New Year!

Pretend City Children's Museum held a grand reopening of its Dental Office Exhibit! This newly refurbished exhibit, made possible by a grant from the 3M Foundation, allows children to interact with dental equipment and see the positive impact dentists and orthodontists have in instilling healthy lifestyles in the children and families of Orange County. A range of activities throughout the day acquainted 754 attendees with this new educational resource at Pretend City.

Volunteers from the UC Irvine pre-dental Students United with America's ToothFairy (SUAT) chapter and the Concorde Career College Dental Hygiene SUAT enrolled children in the America's ToothFairy Kid’s Club and provided oral health education utilizing the ToothFairy 101 Community Education Kit. Free oral health screenings were offered by one of our Affiliate partners, Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County. What a great example of the OC Oral Health Zone’s collaborations at work!
