Texas Oral Health Zone

Texas, Oral Health Zone

Initial Oral Health Zone activities in Texas will begin in 2015 with a school-focused initiative developed in partnership with Delta Dental Insurance Company. This zone focuses on student engagement through schools with a special focus on the Latino American community. Through this program, America's ToothFairy will resource school nurses, youth organizations and other community partners with Community Education kits and resources for oral health education. Partnerships with the National Association of School Nurses, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, HOSA: Future Health Professionals, US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and Girl Scout troops and councils are being activated to benefit select Texas communities with vital education and services.

Goals of the OHZ include:

  • Expanding access to oral health education through school-based outreach activities
  • Elevating oral health literacy among students and their families through oral health education
  • Engaging youth in oral health advocacy and community service

Made possible with generous funding from:
