Your Smile Drive Impact!

This February, we held our 3rd Annual America’s ToothFairy Smile Drive – a national campaign to raise awareness of the importance of oral health and collect toothbrushes, toothpaste and other oral care products for children in need. We were inspired to hear your heart-warming stories and the many creative Smile Drive contests, events, and activities you held.
Thanks to your active participation and the generosity of community members across the nation we have been able to distribute hundreds of thousands of oral care products over the last three years! Here are some highlights from this year’s Smile Drive:

Smile Drive Highlights

  • After collecting more than 12,000 products last year, our HOSA Contest Winner, O’Gorman Greater Sioux Falls High School HOSA, outdid themselves this year by collecting 21,649 products! These wonderful students delivered their products to underserved children across their state of South Dakota including the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
  • Align Technology, an America’s ToothFairy Underwriter, got several of their offices involved in the Smile Drive this year including their office in Mexico. Aligntech de Mexico distributed more than 4,000 toothbrushes to local children in need.
  • A
    merica’s ToothFairy partnered withMiss Native American USA, Kristina Hyatt, RDH, to hold Smile Drives benefiting Native American children throughout the country. Oral care products and educational presentations were provided to Native American children in New Mexico, South Dakota and North Carolina. “What a wonderful blessing to participate in the Smile Drive!” Kristina said. “This is my second year, and I am so grateful for the opportunity. As Miss Native American USA, it is my goal to create more awareness about the importance of oral health throughout Indian Country.”
  • Girl America's ToothFairy Girl Scout Patch ProgramScout Troop 16055 in Torrance, CA, partnered with America’s ToothFairy on their Bronze Award project. The Bronze Award is the highest award achievable by Junior Scouts. “The girls set up a Smile Drive booth in front of a local market and were amazed at the outpouring of generosity from the community,” said Troop Leader Sarah Danjou. “This was a truly amazing opportunity for these kids to understand the importance of giving back and America’s ToothFairy was the IDEAL organization to partner with. The online tools and resources made our event an absolute success!”
