Pediatric Dental Disease: A Silent Epidemic
The Surgeon General of the United States has declared pediatric oral health disease a “silent epidemic” and the #1 chronic childhood illness in America. Although completely preventable, the situation is getting worse.
With a mission of delivering aggressive solutions to eliminate the painful and costly epidemic of pediatric dental disease, concerned practitioners, educators and corporate leaders developed National Children’s Oral Health Foundation: America’s Toothfairy (NCOHF) in 2006.
Dental Home Program
To expand access to care to combat the painful and preventable epidemic of pediatric dental disease, NCOHF is working with leaders from the dental community to initiate the America’s Toothfairy Dental Home program to mobilize dentists across the country to “Adopt the Care of a Child.”
This is a tremendous opportunity for your office to be recognized for the pro-bono work that you provide!
By adopting the care of underserved children in your community and giving them a “dental home,” your practice provides the building blocks necessary to ensure proper oral health practices and increase children’s opportunities for future success.
