America’s Toothfairy®
…because every child deserves a healthy smile.
Program Overview
Tomorrow’s SMILES® provides comprehensive restorative functional and esthetic treatment for promising at-risk teens without the financial means to pay for the services. Tomorrow’s SMILES volunteers also educate participants about the importance of good oral health and offer guidance on maintaining their healthy smiles. NCOHF Affiliates and caring volunteer dental professionals provide treatment for students who have been identified and prescreened through partnerships with Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the National Association of School Nurses.
Through Pay It Forward, Tomorrow’s SMILES teens deliver engaging educational oral health activities and lessons to younger children to help break the cycle of this preventable disease for future generations.
“We just informed Jalja today that she was accepted into the program and she started to tear up. She said that she was ‘so happy. In all my years here…I have never had that feeling of appreciation from a patient. Thanks for making this possible for Jalja.” -Dr. Torrey Rothstein
Generous corporate underwriting ensures that 100% of funds donated to Tomorrow’s SMILES go directly to restorative and esthetic services for teens.
Change A Smile, Change A Life!
Tomorrow’s SMILES participants are more likely to succeed in school and become productive, healthy adults. As they experience the impact of good oral health, they better understand and appreciate the benefits of regular professional care for a lifelong healthy smile.
Adhering to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) policies and protocols for adolescents, Tomorrow’s SMILES promotes, protects and enhances the oral health and well being of underserved youth. It encourages youth to accept self-responsibility for their oral health and develop permanent healthy behaviors.
As a teen’s oral health needs are identified and a treatment plan approved, students are provided both esthetic and functional dental services based on specific needs. Supplemental services including plastic surgery and psychological counseling may be considered for special cases.
Tomorrow’s SMILES teens also receive the tools to continue preventive care as part of their personal commitment to their oral health.
Esthetic and functional services may include:
- Cosmetic contouring and bonding
- Bleaching
- Cosmetic periodontics
- Endodontics
- Orthodontics
